Daytime, night time – lunchtime, tea
Bedtime, playtime – worker’s fee
Poems
Rat Race Symptoms
A bill that’s left unpaid
A visit that has to be made
The clock upon the wall shows that time
Like sand will fall
That you always must be on the ball
Back to Front
Look at me, I’m upside down
You’re standing on your head
Look you’ve got it inside out
I’m back to front instead
Baskards
To set your task alone to ask
Whilst in the sun the masters bask
Little Fish
Beware now all you little fish
the sharks will find you quite a dish
They wear a grin, they live in sin
They have sharp teeth that sink right in
Multiphrenic
Ploughing through your work
Tumbling through the skies
Searching for the truth
Hiding in the lies
Our Side
Our side is just, our side is good
We are the ones chosen to win
We have been told that this is so
Otherwise – how could we go
On – and on – and on – in sin?
Someone Else’s Eyes
A jest hides, leering in a grin
I cannot see it under my nose and on my chin
I shock myself to see reflected
Some other image that I’ve collected
But deep inside I’m not surprised
For I see IT ALL – with someone else’s eyes
Within my Hand
I lived in vain – I tried again
I never found the truth
I held my dreams within my hand
They flew off through the roof
When the Twilight Comes Alive
Where light and darkness meet
Both locked in mocked defeat
Beneath our sky – the neighbour stars
The moon and parent sun
The Stream
I try to catch the stream but it just runs away
I cannot buy a moment back though still I have to pay
The Early Jerk
The early jerk gets the germ
but his trouble…
