Pedigree Man

by Dave Draper  ©  1983138 words

Pedigree-154x160
You came down from the trees
And haunted the plains
As free as the breeze
The sun and the rains
Changed the land with your hand
And you gave it your brand

You changed evolution
With farming and towns
A cartload of monkeys
A troupe full of clowns
Now food’s in a can
For a pedigree man

Your head’s up in the clouds
Your feet are stuck on the ground
Reaching out for the stars
You want to wrestle them down

Since your first culture
Since you first came
You’ve changed the future
And the name of the game
The answers came easy
But all the questions remain

For a Pedigree man – a Pedigree man
For a Pedigree man – a Pedigree man
For a Pedigree man – a Pedigree man
