An Acrylic Water-Colour painted on CS2 card, this is Part One of a mini-series embedded within the Space Art Category that I invented called, ‘Deep Space Art’. It comprises four pieces: Way Station, Space Train Refuel, Deep Space Station, and Double Galaxy’
The only component of this particular original creation that is not mine, is the title, Way Station, taken straight from a 1963 Clifford Simak novel, which I have never read.
All the depictions of this mini series I’ve created are straight from my imagination, giving me a chance to explore concepts of future technologies set amongst the stars, galaxies and nebulae.
The real fun part of this venture, is that it allowed me to indulge fancifully with washes, scumbles, highlights, dark lanes and pathway tonings and the colourings of main sequence stars as represented in various gradations of the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram. This part I really enjoyed.
I’d say it was a form of space ‘landscape’ painting.
