This was a project I set myself in my lunch breaks whilst at CREATE in 1989 to illustrate my Hidden World Story, a spoof of Alice in Wonderland featuring a well-developed Alice in her early teens. Alice’s stance and pose, with one arm resting on the opened door of a room she has just entered is taken from my acrylic painting of a Dulux advert, showing an Alice less endowed than the one I’ve invented here, and is also located in the Fantasy and Projects sections of the Art Category.
The illustration shown as the featured item in this entry was drawn using a mouse, rendered in a pointillistic style and given a low-key chiaroscuro effect. The Computerised drawing of Alice is shown on Page 2 of the PORTRAIT category; Page 2 of the FANTASY category; and is the First Entry on Page 2 of the CARICATURE category.
I also did a freehand black-and-white pen-and-ink drawing depicting my own version of the White Rabbit to accompany this subject. The freehand White Rabbit drawing is shown on Page 2 of the the PORTRAIT category; on Page 3 of the FANTASY category; and is the last entry on Page 2 of the CARICATURE category.
