This is an oil pastel landscape I did during a very busy period when I was using the medium extensively back in 1986.
It is on a woodland theme I used many times in various media.
Almost by accident when dappling between tree trunks, the figure leaning against the second trunk to the left of the view [or the right as we view it] appeared quite magically from the background mist.
Quickly latching on to this I then defined the figure quite clearly and distinctly as a custodian or guardian complete with an official’s hat, and then titled the finished rendering, Warden’s Wood. Try zooming in using the Zoom function in the View section of the Pulldown Menu for an interesting examination of the picture under various degrees of magnification.
